When a cool roof was on the shopping list, Save Mart turned to Barrier.

 Single-Ply Roofing

SAVE MART SUPERMARKET

THE CHALLENGE

Manufacturing rubber and plastics products is an energy-intensive process. Doing so in the middle of a scorching desert in a facility with an old, black roof and the energy consumption goes, well, through the roof. The manufacturer was fighting Mother Nature, and losing the battle big time, when it came to energy costs and efficiency

THE PROCESS

  • Applied 5” of EPS insulation plus 1/4” Densdeck and 45 mils single-ply roof system
  • Worked around over a hundred skylights

THE RESULT

Barrier’s solution created a seamless, monolithic roof that was water-resistant, energy-efficient and met all cool roof criteria.
